Congratulations to Doctors recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours

A number of AMA members, including four GPs, have been recognised for their contributions to healthcare in Australia this year for the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Associate Professor Ruth McNair, Victoria, was made a Member (AM) in the General Division for significant service to medicine, and as an advocate for the LGBTIQ community.

AMA GP members who received a Medal (OAM) in the General Division include:

  • Dr Geraldine Duncan, NSW, for service to rural medicine.
  • Dr Peter Faulkner, WA, for service to medicine through a range of roles.
  • Dr Adam Zagorski, Victoria, for service to medicine as a general practitioner.

AMA President Dr Tony Bartone congratulated all doctors who received Honours for their dedication to their profession and their commitment to their patients and communities.
