More Doctorama podcast episodes for 2024
The AMA President’s ‘Doctorama’ podcast returned in January with big names in Australia’s health.
AMA President Professor Steve Robson is back with his ‘Doctorama’ podcast. The first three episodes this year look at issues in genetic discrimination in life insurance, Indigenous health and workforce issues, and sports medicine.
Professor Robson spoke with Dr Jane Tiller about issues in genetic testing and the problem of genetic discrimination in life insurance. The AMA has been arguing for a legislated ban on genetic discrimination, advocating for the ban in a recent submission to a Treasury consultation.
Professor Robson also spoke with 2023’s NAIDOC Person of the Year and newly honoured Member of the Order of Australia, Professor Kelvin Kong AM. Professor Kong details his experiences in medicine, including being awarded the AMA Indigenous Medical Scholarship in 1997.
Professor Robson’s most recent guest is Chief Medical Officer at the Australian Institute of Sport, Dr David Hughes AM.
Stay tuned for more big names in health who will be chatting with Professor Robson in coming weeks, with a very special guest to be revealed in the next episode.
Doctorama is streaming on all podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
