No health comments before budget sound warning bells
In the lead, up to the 2018 Tasmanian budget the AMA Tasmania notes a lack of strategic leaks and commentary on health. However, the AMA stands ready to hold the Government accountable on all the issues raised at the election just three months ago.
AMA Tasmania President Dr John Davis said, “We eagerly await announcements regarding the redevelopment of infrastructure around the state and at the Royal Hobart Hospital particularly in areas such as Psychiatry and Intensive Care. These measures are urgently required to relieve the blockages in the Department of Emergency Medicine and improve hospital patient flow”.
We hope the budget stands as the foundation, setting a platform for health care, not just for today, but for the future ensuring a strategic approach, particularly in regional and rural areas.
