MYHOSPITALS REPORT
AMA Tasmania has today been made aware of recently released Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, MyHospital National hospital performance reports showing an increase in operating costs occurred by the Royal Hobart Hospital; however, these figures and the accompanying data are more than three years old and are not an accurate reflection of current operating practices.
Tasmanian based health care professionals working at the coal face of well organised and compassionate patient care are to be praised at all times for their professional dedication.
Timely and cost-efficient delivery across all floors by the wholly dedicated team has improved within the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Tasmanian Department of Health has advised that more recent data received from the Independent Hospital Pricing Authority shows that Tasmania’s overall cost of hospital care is the third most efficient of any state or territory in Australia.
