Submission to the RACS Expert Advisory Group on Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment

The AMA has made an extensive submission to Expert Advisory Group established by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to look into issues of discrimination, bullying and harassment. The AMA has previously congratulated RACS on the establishment of the EAG and its commitment to tackle these issues. 

The submission highlights that there is no place for discrimination, bullying or sexual harassment in the practice of surgery or in any modern workplace, outlines many of the contributing factors and discusses potential solutions. It also emphasises the need for a 'whole of profession' approach as well greater cooperation between employers, unions, colleges and professional bodies like the AMA.
