AMA Submission to the Senate Select Committee on the Future of Work and Workers

The AMA, in joint submission with the Australian Salaried Medical Officers’ Federation (ASMOF), considered a variety of public hospital medical workforce & industrial (Doctor-in-Training and Consultant) implications arising from the emergence of new clinical technology.  Of particular focus was ensuring engagement with the profession to optimise technology integration as an adjunct to clinical practice; considering the capacity of industrial regulation to keep pace with change; and managing the potential for increased workload / fatigue generation brought about through new ways to perform medical practice (off site for example).
