AMA Submission to the Review of the Mandatory Reporting Provisions

29 Sep 2017

The AMA submission to the review of the mandatory reporting provisions strongly calls for the adoption of the Western Australian model of mandatory reporting provisions for doctors seeking treatment for mental health and other health conditions.

Practitioners are also patients, and should have equal rights to their patients, in that their access to medical treatment should be equal to all other Australians.

Healthy doctors are best placed to help patients. The current provisions put both doctors and patients at risk.
