AMA Submission to the Productivity Commission inquiry Reforms to Human Services (public hospital services)

While there is potential to improve the outcomes of public hospital services, the AMA is not convinced that a focus on increased competition will solve the problems faced by public hospitals.  Competition will not solve the overarching source of these problems: the lack of sufficient and certain funding for public hospitals.
