Fair Work Act update: Paid family and domestic violence leave laws
The Federal Government and Workplace Relations Minister have introduced a bill in parliament entitling all employees, including casuals, to an annual 10 days paid family and domestic violence (FDV) leave effective from early 2023.
The Government's Fair Work Amendments (Paid family and Domestic Violence Leave) Bill 2022, will amend the current Fair Work Act by introducing a non-accumulating entitlement to 10 days’ paid FDV leave every year into the National Employment Standards.
The entitlement will take effect next year from February 1 for most employees, with small businesses having a further 6 months (to August) to adjust to the change.
