2022 National Immunisation Program Influenza update
Annual vaccination is the most important measure to prevent influenza and it complications spreading in the community and is recommended for all people aged six months and over. Vaccination against influenza this year is even more important than it has been in the past.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic period, there have been lower exposures to the influenza virus and lower levels of influenza vaccine coverage compared to previous years. This is ever more prevalent due to the international and state borders opening and the possible resurgence of influenza in the community.
The Minister for Health, Hon Greg Hunt MP has provided an update regarding important information about influenza vaccines available under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for the 2022 Influenza Season.
