Expressions of interest: junior doctors

Expressions of interest (EOI) are sought from interested Federal AMA Doctor in Training members within AMA Council of Doctors in Training at a Federal and/or State level and/or within your network to represent AMACDT on the:  

• AMA Council of Rural Doctors 
• AMA Council of Public Hospital Doctors 
• Medical Practice Committee 
• Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Committee   
• Taskforce on Indigenous Health 
• Ethics and Medico-Legal Committee  

Interested representatives should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:  

• background and/or interest in the Council/Committee’s brief/subject matter  
• previous experience in health advocacy is preferable but not compulsory  
• willingness and ability to contribute to professional discussion and debate 
• ability to present the views and interests of the doctors in training
• preparedness to facilitate communication between the AMA Council of Doctors in Training (AMACDT) and the Council/Committee (including liaison with the Chair/Deputy Co-Chair AMACDT and reporting to AMACDT) and  
• availability for meeting attendance and associated Council/Committee work.

Nominations for AMACDT Special Interest Groups and Advisory Committees 

Nominations are invited for State and Territory AMA DiT representatives to be part of AMA Council of Doctors in Training Special Interest Groups or Advisory Committees.

Positions are open for the following groups:

• Policy Advisory Committee (CPAC)
• Prevocational Special Interest Group (PSIG)
• General Practice Trainee Advisory Committee (G-TAC). 

General Practice Trainee Advisory Committee (G-TAC) provides a forum for GP trainee members to contribute to AMACDT advocacy and policy development at a Federal level specifically in relation to GP training matters. Prevocational Special Interest Group (PSIG) advocates for pre-training registrars variously known as unaccredited prevocational registrars. And the AMA Council of Doctors in Training Policy Advisory Committee (CPAC) assist the work of AMACDT in developing and reviewing policy documents and other documents and submissions. 

Nominated representatives should be able to demonstrate the following attributes: 

• Previous advocacy, policy, and/or professional experience. 
• Capacity and availability to contribute to the SIG/ACs work program 
• Contribute to working groups
• Participate in meetings every 6-8 weeks, or as necessary called by Co-Chairs
• Make commentary on internal and external policies and statements as needed 

The AMACDT is encouraging appointments that reflect the diversity of DiT membership including gender, geography, and stage of training. 
 
Appointments will be for a 12-month period with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
