AMA Queensland’s member-only, real-time online platform, Queensland Doctors’ Community (QDC) provides daily news, updates and discussion and has been invaluable during the entire COVID pandemic.

With so much information about the COVID pandemic, QDC is the one place to find what’s relevant to Queensland doctors, with regular updates posted from Queensland Health, the Australian Department of Health, the State Health Emergency Coordination Centre (SHECC) and more.

The interactive forum also updates AMA Queensland’s Policy Team on the challenges and opportunities facing our members, particularly in relation to the COVID response and vaccine rollout. AMA and AMA Queensland has been able to advocate on behalf of members in relation to numerous issues such as:

  • telehealth;
  • triaging, quarantining and treating COVID patients;
  • appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution and fit-testing;
  • GPs role in the vaccine program; and
  • failing confidence in vaccines.

A new addition to QDC is the new Daily Media Briefings in the Announcement section with media clips relating to medical issues in Australia published each day to help members stay informed on current issues and topics.

Members can also lead the conversation on QDC and post discussions on their concerns, ideas and experiences in the Queensland medical profession. Since its inception in 2019, QDC has become a hub for members of all ages, specialties and locations to come together and discuss key topics impacting doctors in Queensland
