EOIs for Committee of Consultant Specialists

 

Expressions of interest are sought from the AMA Queensland membership for Committee Members positions on the Committee of Consultant Specialists

The Committee of Consultant Specialists has been established to provide considered and expert advice and recommendations to the AMA Queensland Council on matters relating to consultant specialists.

The purpose of the Committee of Consultant Specialists is to:

  • formulate policy and drive medico-political change through the provision of advice to the AMA Queensland Council.
  • report to AMA Queensland Council on emerging issues in the area of consultant specialists.

The successful committee members are consultant specialists who will:

  • understand the Queensland political system and the Australian health system.
  • be prepared to challenge ideas and be constructive in finding solutions.
  • aim to improve patient and community health care throughout Queensland through AMA Queensland’s advocacy.
  • conduct themselves in a professional manner including maintaining the confidentiality of meeting discussions, declaring and managing conflicts of interest and abiding by AMA Queensland policies.

Appointments will be for a period of up to two (2) years, which may be extended up to three (3) consecutive terms ie maximum of six (6) years.

The Committee will meet at least three (3) times per year. This is a voluntary position, though expenses incurred for special projects can be reimbursed.
