EOIs for International Medical Graduates' Working Group

Expressions of interest are sought from the AMA Queensland members for positions on the International Medical Graduates' Working Group (IMG WG)

The IMG WG has been established to provide advice and recommendations to the AMA Queensland Council on matters relating to IMGs, and to:

  • survey IMGs to understand the needs and challenges associated with being an IMG in Queensland
  • develop policy to support IMGs in training
  • increase IMG representation within the membership of AMA Queensland.

Members of the IMG WG:

  • can be IMGs or non-IMGs, including doctors in training, specialist GPs and consultant specialists
  • should have insights into the needs and challenges faced by IMGs, including as an IMG, or as a practitioner involved in recruiting, training, placing or working with IMGs.

Appointments will be for a period of up to two (2) years, which may be extended. However, the work of the IMG WG is anticipated to be completed by mid 2024.

The IMG WG will meet as needed, and materials will be circulated out of session as required.

This is a voluntary position, though expenses incurred for special projects can be reimbursed.

Please submit your Expression of Interest (i.e. a short statement, no longer than one page, outlining your interest, and your current curriculum vitae) by no later than 5pm Monday 13 June 2022 to:
Attn: Dr Emilia Dauway, Chair of the International Medical Graduates Working Group, via s.downey@amaq.com.au
