Annual Wage Review and Decision 2020-2021

As we approach the end of June, we too approach the publication of the Annual Wage Decision 2020-2021.

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has stopped gathering submissions to inform its decision making process and will make its decision in the next 2.5 weeks to either increase minimum Modern Award wage rates or maintain the current Modern Award wage rates.

Pursuant to section 292 (1) of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), if  the FWC makes one or more determinations varying Modern Award minimum wages in an annual wage review, the FWC must publish any variation to modern award minimum wage rates before 1 July 2021.

We are keeping watch on this, and will prepare the AMA Queensland Rates of Pay Summary relating to the Health Professional and Support Services Award 2020 and the Nurses Award 2010 as soon as practicable.
