AMA Queensland Submission Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Amendment Bill 2023
AMA Queensland has continued to advocate for greater protections for Queenslanders against the devastating effects of smoking, particularly e-cigarettes.
This included our recent submission to the Health and Environment Committee on its inquiry into the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Amendment Bill 2023 and joint submission with multiple health organisations, such as the Lung Foundation, Heart Foundation and Asthma Australia.
Whilst many of the proposed reforms will implement measures long called for by AMA Queensland, particularly licensing and greater enforcement of laws to protect children, there are aspects of the Bill that require greater scrutiny.
