AMA President Dr Steve Hambleton says we are now feeling the effects from 10-15 years ago when the Government decided there was an oversupply of doctors and turned off the tap. He says there is a real problem in training doctors in their speciality and we need leadership from the Government to work with State and Territory Governments to provide sufficient training places for medical graduates.
