The Federal Government has proposed changes to Medicare, with access to bulk billing doctors omitted to those on the lowest income. AMA President Dr Steve Hambleton says costs are blowing out and the original Medicare system was designed for acute care not primary care. He says we need to make sure people on low incomes can access their GP.
