Professor Brian Owler - ABC News Story about AEB - 12 August 2015

The AMA and the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) are calling for Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) to be standard in all new cars sold in Australia.

AEB systems use camera and sensor technology to detect the speed and distance of objects in a vehicle’s path, and automatically brake if the driver does not respond.

Technologies like AEB could be as effective as seatbelts in saving lives.
