Editorial arrangements for the Medical Journal of Australia

The Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Ann Gregory as Acting Editor of the Journal and Dr Ruth Armstrong as Senior Deputy Editor.

MJA Board Chair, Dr Steve Hambleton, said today that the Board is delighted that two such highly experienced and well-regarded individuals have made themselves available to steer the Journal over the next period.

“The MJA is the premier medical research journal in Australia,” Dr Hambleton said.

“It has a long and distinguished history in medical publishing, and makes an unrivalled contribution to the advancement of medical practice, research, and inquiry in this country.

“The Board thanks all the staff at the MJA and its publishing company, AMPCo, for the high standards of production and for their dedication to the goals of the Journal.

“The Board recognises the current challenges for publishing houses generally in Australia and overseas, and the many changes that are confronting research and academic publications.

“The Board reiterates its commitment to providing an independent and high quality medical research Journal that will remain an essential resource and catalyst for the development of medical practice in Australia and internationally.

“The MJA will continue to be innovative and responsive to the needs of its readership and the medical and research communities,” Dr Hambleton said.
