NEWSREADER: The Australian Medical Association says the Woomera crisis must be settled immediately and the legal rights of medical staff at the centre must be clarified at once. AMA President, Dr Kerryn Phelps.
PHELPS: This is damaging our international reputation and until we get transparency and until we have an independent assessment by the medical profession of the health and living conditions of asylum seekers in the detention centres our international reputation will continue to be under question.
