AMA tells Government: "A fairer Medicare is not fair enough"

AMA President, Dr Bill Glasson, will this morning lead an AMA delegation to address the Senate Select Committee on Medicare with a clear message for the Government: the A Fairer Medicare package is not good enough or fair enough.

Dr Glasson said this morning that Medicare and the health system are not resourced sufficiently to maintain equity of access and affordability in primary health care for the long term.

"The AMA will today outline to the Senate Committee some practical solutions to ensure Australia has a health system that can provide affordable and accessible health services for all Australians no matter where they live," Dr Glasson said.
