Agreement on National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER)

The AMA is pleased to advise that formal agreement has been reached between General Practice Supervisors Australia (GPSA) and General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) on the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER) for the 2015 and 2016 GP training years.

The NTCER applies to GP Registrars in the Australian General Practice Training Program, and the AMA traditionally helps broker the agreement every two years.

The new agreement will commence from the start of the new GP training year in 2015, and apply to GP registrars in GPT1, GPT2, GPT3, and GPT4.

It will supersede the GP National Minimum Terms and Conditions agreement, which currently applies to GPT1 and GPT2. By agreement between the GPRA and GPSA, the new agreement will extend to GPT3 and GPT4.

The AMA is pleased to have been able to assist the GPRA and GPSA reach agreement on the NTCER, and congratulates them on the constructive approach to negotiations.

A copy of the new agreement is available from the AMA website at https://ama.com.au/article/gp-national-terms-conditions-employment-registrars
