AMA announces public hospital advocacy group
AMA President, Dr Bill Glasson, said today the AMA's strong support for public hospitals will now be even stronger with the announcement of the AMA Public Hospital Advocacy Group.
Dr Glasson said the Group contains the most senior and respected clinicians representing all the States and Territories. They are:

"The AMA Public Hospital Advocacy Group will play an important role in this election year," Dr Glasson said.
"They will speak out in support of the public hospital system in Australia.

"They will advocate for positive change and improvement to the public hospital system and its links to other parts of the health system.
"These doctors have been handpicked by the State and Territory AMAs as being best qualified to comment and advise on our public hospitals.
"They have years of experience and the respect of their peers and their patients.
"They believe in the public hospitals and their important service to patients and communities.
"They want to preserve and enhance the role of our public hospitals as medical teaching institutions.
"They want to make sure our public hospitals are properly financed and resourced to serve all Australians.
