AMA and AHA launch rostering kit to make hospitals safer

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) and the Australian Healthcare Association (AHA) have jointly developed a best practice rostering kit to assist hospitals produce more efficient rosters that will make hospitals safer for doctors and patients.

Australian and international studies show that long hours and fatigue contribute to inefficiencies and poorer health outcomes in hospitals.

The BEST PRACTICE ROSTERING: TRAINING AND RESOURCE KIT (Practical Tools for Rostering Doctors) will be launched by AMA President, Dr Bill Glasson, and AHA Executive Director, Prue Power, at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Thursday, 21 August 2003.
