AMA 15th National Conference 2003 - Federal AMA acknowledges excellence from State AMA organisations

AMA President, Dr Kerryn Phelps, tonight presented the AMA State organisations with awards for excellence in political lobbying, public health campaigning, member publication and website.

Dr Phelps said the work of the States and Territories complements the Federal AMA to provide a comprehensive professional and informative service for AMA members and the public.

"The AMA at all levels works hard to lobby governments, keep the public informed of health issues and ensure that its 28,000 members get value for their membership.

"Tonight's awards reflect the high standards of performance and impact the AMA is known for," Dr Phelps said.
