Alert - Scrap the Cap Alliance strategy meeting
AMA House, Canberra, Tuesday 30 July 2013, 9.00am – 12 noon
The Scrap The Cap Alliance is holding a strategy meeting in Canberra tomorrow to plan the next steps in the campaign to force the Government to scrap its proposed $2000 cap on claims for work-related self-education expenses.
Groups attending include the AMA, Universities Australia, The Pharmacy Guild, the Australian Nursing Federation, the Australian Institute of Architects, Professions Australia, the Australian Veterinary Association, Engineers Australia, the Tax Institute, Optometrists Association Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, the Rural Doctors Association of Australia, the Australian Library and Information Association, General Practice Registrars Australia, and the Australian Dental Association.
Treasurer Chris Bowen and Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey, and their representatives, have been invited to attend the meeting.
Alliance representatives will be available to talk to the media following the meeting.
