Classification for staff information under Award
The Workplace Relations Team has received many queries regarding how to classify staff members, and while we cannot classify staff on your behalf, we have put together two fact sheets to help guide you.
Our main questions are relating to classifying support service employees and nurses, so we have focused on those.
Classifications for support service employees are found under Schedule A of the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020. Nurse classifications are located in Schedule A of the Nurses Award 2020. It is important to keep in mind employers have an obligation to notify their employees in writing of their classification upon commencement and of any subsequent changes that may occur.
