New NPS MedicineWise Resources on Anticholinergic Burden
NPS MedicineWise program Anticholinergic burden – the unintended consequences for older people has been updated and new resources that have been developed.
The program has a specific focus on the safe use of medicines with anticholinergic effects and reducing the anticholinergic load and associated side effects for older people.
New resources developed as part of the program include an animation co-developed with consumers and co-branded with the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) and Carers Australia, and several short videos featuring health professionals. A range of information and fact sheets and translated resources are also available. These include targeted resources for health professionals and consumers.
