Apply for your Medicare provider numbers (MPNs) early

Make sure you get your MPN application in on time to avoid any delays. If you’re a medical intern and have registered as an intern with Ahpra, you can apply for your MPN online. You’ll get an invitation from us to finalise your MPN application using HPOS. 

If you’re not a medical intern you’ll need to apply using a form. Find out how to apply if you’re a health professional. 

If you need an additional provider number and you’re eligible with no restrictions, you can apply using HPOS. In HPOS, select Create a new provider location. 

You need a PRODA account to access HPOS. If you don’t have one, you can register for one.
