Rural GP training set to expand

Minister for Regional Health, the Hon Mark Coulton MP, has announced this week that the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) will be allocated an additional 100 GP training places for 2021 as part of the implementation of the National Rural Generalist Pathway (NRGP).

The additional 100 training places were originally announced in the 2018-19 Federal Budget after strong AMA advocacy in support of a rural generalist GP training pathway. The AMA will continue to work with the Government and the two GP colleges in the roll out of the NRGP.
