United General Practice Australia meeting

AMA President, Dr Tony Bartone, and Chair of the Council of General Practice, Dr Richard Kidd, represented the AMA at the United General Practice Australia (UPGA) meeting on 15 July 2020.

Topics discussed included the continuation of telehealth after the temporary COVID-19 telehealth items expire in September 2020, progression of the National Medical Workforce plan, GP training and the transition of GP training to the Colleges in 2021, implementation of the National Rural Generalist Pathway, and the future role for GPs in disaster responses.
