Targeting PPI use in Veterans
The Veterans’ Medicines Advice & Therapeutic Education Services (Veterans’ MATES) program will be mailing a brochure titled When is it time to review my medicine for heartburn? to relevant DVA patients in September. The brochure contains information about gastro-oesophageal reflux and encourages veterans to discuss their proton pump inhibitor medicine with their GP.
Copies of the therapeutic brief and brochure were mailed to GPs who treat selected veterans in late August.
The Veterans’ MATES program aims to improve the use of medicines and health services in the veteran community.
