Nominations now open - 2017 AMA Public Health Awards

The AMA Public Health Awards provide well-deserved recognition of the extraordinary contribution doctors and associated health groups make to health care and public health. If you know someone you think deserves to be recognised for their efforts then the AMA encourages you to submit a nomination.

In 2017, nominations are sought for awards in the following categories:

  • AMA Excellence in Healthcare Award
  • Woman in Medicine Award
  • Women's Health Award
  • Men's Health Award
  • Youth Health Award

Award recipients will be invited to attend the 2017 AMA National Conference in Melbourne on 26-28 May, where the awards will be announced and presented. In the year following the presentation of the awards, recipients will have the opportunity to participate in interviews with interested media, and engage in AMA supported activities promoting their work in their field of expertise.

Nominations for most of the AMA Public Health Awards can be submitted by any member of the community, however the AMA Woman in Medicine Award is awarded to an AMA member, and must be nominated by an AMA member.

A full description of the criteria for nominations, and information on how to nominate, is available here. Nominations, including all required documentation, should be submitted electronically to awards@ama.com.au.  The closing date for receipt of nominations for each award is COB Wednesday 19 April 2017.
