Medicare reprieve for pro athletes

GPs are advised that contrary to advise earlier last year the Government has now given professional athletes an extra three years to put in place arrangements to cover their health costs before it blocks their access to Medicare for work related illness or injury. 

The move is yet another backflip and indicates that the original decision had not been fully developed before being announced.
