Health Minister heralds changes to PIP

At the AMA National Conference on 23 May 2014, Health Minister Peter Dutton heralded some changes to the Practice Incentives Program payments. In his speech Minister Dutton spoke of the streamlining of incentives with a greater focus on continuous quality improvement.

This announcement reflects the work currently underway of the Department of Health’s Practice Incentive Payments Advisory Group. The AMA, which is a member of the group, provides advice to the Department on the PIP and the development and implementation of new incentives.
