Australian Medicine – new monthly print edition

Australian Medicine has returned to print this year with the first print copy out this week. A printed edition will be produced once a month and will coincide with editions of the Medical Journal of Australia, with all AMA members receiving both publications in one convenient pack, mailed directly to their letter boxes. Australian Medicine will also continue to be published electronically every fortnight to keep members up-to-date on current issues.

The first print edition opens with discussions from AMA President A/Prof Brian Owler, AMA Vice President Dr Stephen Parnis, and AMA Secretary General Anne Trimmer, about the crucial issues in health policy currently facing the medical profession and the Australian community in 2015. Our hard-working doctors who received Australia Day honours this year are also recognised in this edition. Other stories include the pharmacies’ push for authority to provide flu vaccinations nationwide; a report on a BMJ study that found a flawed complaints process undermined health and care; and hope that a new wave of antibiotics could doom superbugs.
