AMA advocacy results in greater clarity on the DSP

AMA advocacy for greater clarity around the eligibility requirements and assessment process for Disability Support Pension (DSP) applicants has resulted in the Department of Human Services (DHS) publishing an improved and dedicated webpage with information for Health Professionals on the DSP.

The page on the DHS site includes information about the DSP, eligibility criteria, and specific information that will be of use to GPs with DSP patients, or patients seeking to apply for a DSP.

The information on the webpage will be reviewed and updated regularly, ensuring that it remains current in the event of changes to policy or processes. It also means that the webpage can provide links to other related material which may be of interest for health professionals.

The webpage can be found here.
