FAQs for New AMAQ Members – National Access (AMA Ltd)

 

1. What is the difference between AMA Queensland and AMA Ltd?

AMA Queensland is your state-based AMA organisation, supporting local advocacy, events, and member services. AMA Ltd is the national AMA organisation, providing access to national policy, resources, events, and tools.

As a member of the AMA you are a conjoint member of both the AMA and AMAQ.

 

2. As a new Queensland member, do I automatically get access to AMA Ltd?

Yes. When you join AMA Queensland, you are automatically connected to AMA Ltd and receive access to national services and resources.

 

3. What national benefits do I receive through AMA Ltd?

As part of your AMA Ltd membership, you’ll gain access to a wide range of national services and opportunities, including:

  • Joining the peak advocacy organisation for doctors in Australia
  • The AMA Fees List and Fees List Calculator (excluding Doctors in Training)
  • Invitations to contribute to national policy consultations
  • Opportunities to join national councils and committees
  • Access to national events and roadshows
  • CPD-accredited events to support your ongoing professional development
  • A subscription to the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA)
  • Regular updates on federal advocacy, reforms, and national health policy
  • A weekly snapshot of AMA activity, including media coverage and meeting summaries

4. How do I access AMA Ltd services?

You can log in to AMA Ltd services at www.ama.com.au

You’ll receive login details once your membership is active. If you need help, contact the AMA Member Engagement team on 1300 133 655 or memberservices@ama.com.au.

 

5. Are there two logins – one for AMA Queensland and one for AMA Ltd?

Yes. You will have separate logins for the state and national member portals. Each login gives you access to different sets of services (state vs. national) and is included as a benefit to your membership.
