Avant discussion paper on preventing and resolving training disputes

Following a workshop in 2016, Avant has released a discussion paper on preventing and resolving training disputes and invites doctors to share their experiences and responses about this issue. The paper comments on contributing factors to training disputes and suggests some core principles to shape appropriate solutions.

The AMA released its position on the role of the AMA in training disputes in April this year. The AMA Position Statement on The role of the AMA in trainee disputes with Colleges – 2017 supports a high level, advocacy role for the Federal AMA in addressing systemic complaints, while confirming the role of the State AMAs to assist members with training/industrial matters/disputes on a one on one basis.
