Join our Special Interest Groups and Advisory Committees
Expressions of interest (EOI) are being sought from interested AMA DiT members to join the following SIGs and ACs for 2021:
-
Wellbeing SIG (W-SIG)
-
Prevocational SIG (P-SIG)
-
Council of Doctors in Training Policy Advisory Committee (C-PAC)
In 2020 the AMA Council of Doctors in Training (AMACDT) established a range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Advisory Committees (ACs) to provide an avenue for wider member engagement by allowing AMA doctor in training (DiT) members the opportunity to contribute to AMACDT advocacy and policy development at a Federal level.
In 2021, we are re-opening nominations early in the year to give other DiTs the opportunity to participate in one of our SIGs or ACs.
Appointments will be for a 12-month period with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
The Terms of Reference for our SIGs and ACs can be found here
Interested representatives should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
-
Previous advocacy, policy, and/or professional experience.
-
Involvement with State and Territory AMAs and/or other medical stakeholder organisations.
-
Capacity and availability to contribute to the relevant SIG/AC work program.
EOIs consisting of a short paragraph (400 words maximum) and targeted CV addressing the above can be submitted to scross@ama.com.au
The closing date for nominations is COB Monday 23 February 2021.
The AMACDT is encouraging appointments that reflect the diversity of DiT membership including gender, geography, stage of training, and specialty, noting the AMA has set a target for gender diversity on its Councils and Committees of 40 per cent women, 40 per cent men, 20 percent flexible by 2021.
Please contact the Chair, AMACDT, Dr Hash Abdeen at cdt.chair@ama.com.au for more information.
Please feel free to forward this to any AMA doctor in training member who may be interested in joining one of our SIGs and/or ACs.
