Doctors, medical students, former Presidents rally in Sydney
Hundreds of doctors and medical students rallied in Sydney in September to endorse the AMA Position Statement on Marriage Equality 2017, which supports marriage equality, and to urge a Yes vote in the ongoing postal ballot.
They were joined by former AMA Presidents – Dr David Brand [1998-2000]; Professor Kerryn Phelps AM [2000-2003]; Dr Bill Glasson AO [2003-2005]; Dr Steve Hambleton [2011-2014]; and Professor Brian Owler [2014-16] – and AMA NSW President, Professor Brad Frankum.
Former Presidents, Dr Mukesh Haikerwal AO [2005-2007] and Dr Andrew Pesce [2009-2011], also support marriage equality and the AMA Position Statement, but could not attend the Rally.
