Submission to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee Inquiry: Therapeutic Goods and Other Legislation Amendment (Vaping Reforms) Bill 2024
The AMA strongly supports the Therapeutic Goods and Other Legislation Amendment (Vaping Reforms) Bill 2024, which will help reduce the rates of vaping and prevent long-term adverse health effects, especially for younger generations.
By placing restrictions on all levels of the supply chain, this Bill will reduce the widespread availability of vapes while upholding the role of general practitioners in supporting people to cease smoking/ vaping by retaining access to prescription vapes.
