AMA submission to the New Model of Regulating Aged Care consultation
The AMA welcomes the new approach to regulating aged care, but warns that the role of the Regulator will have to be strengthened and that protections will have to be put in place to protect vulnerable consumers when providers are either forced to exit or chose to exit the market.
The also AMA welcomed the enshrining of the worker registration in the new regulatory approach and supported the Code of Conduct focusing on aged care providers.
