AMA Submission on Australian Standards for Wound Prevention and Management 2022

The submission: 

• highlighted that clarity around the focus of the standards was required, 

• suggested the Australian Health Research Alliance work with the RACGP on standards applicable to general practice, 

• supported the development of education modules to support use of the Standards, 

• took the opportunity to highlight that current funding arrangements are inadequate to support best practice wound care, and 

• provided some practical solutions for improving both wound care and the Standards themselves.
