AMA Private Health Insurance Report Card 2023
The Australian Medical Association’s 2023 Private Health Insurance Report Card is designed to help consumers choose the right cover, noting that the most important features of a health insurance product will differ for each individual or family.
The 2023 AMA Private Health Insurance Report Card shows that the value that many consumers from their hospital private health insurance is declining, because on average, the benefits that policy holders are getting back from their private health insurers for hospital treatment are a declining percentage of the hospital insurance policy premiums they pay.
The AMA continues to call on the federal government to mandate a minimum amount that every insurer is required to return to patient care and will continue to fight to improve the value for money that consumers receive from their private health insurance.
