Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Report Cards

In 2002 the AMA initiated the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Report Card Series with the aim of increasing awareness among the general public and politicians about the appalling state of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and to make practical recommendations about what needs to be done to address this.

Each year, a Report Card brings together the most up-to-date and relevant evidence and information on a selected topic or area of urgency in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The story of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and well-being is not all bad news, however. Since 2004, Report Cards have also included a Good News Insert which provides examples of successful projects and programs, usually ones developed and maintained by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities themselves.
