The AMA reaches out to Indian colleagues

Representatives from the Indian Medical Association will address the AMA Federal Council this weekend as the two Associations work together to ease India’s COVID-19 crisis.

The AMA President, Dr Khorshid met with the Indian Medical Association Honorary Secretary General, Dr Jaysh Lele, and the World Medical Association Treasurer and immediate past President of the IMA, Dr Ravi Wankhedkar, via Zoom on Tuesday night to establish what assistance the Australia’s medical profession can lend to their Indian colleagues.

Dr Khorshid emphasised the strong bond between the medical profession in Australia and India. The medical community in Australia includes many Indian born or trained doctors, and many Australian trained doctors have themselves worked within the Indian medical system. (See Tweet)

Dr Lele and Dr Wankhedkar will talk to the full Federal Council on Saturday.
