TGA Advice on sertraline shortages

The anti-depressant Sertraline is in short supply in Australia. The TGA has more advice. 

The TGA has recently published a web statement about shortages of sertraline 50mg and 100mg tablets. 

To reduce the impact of these shortages on patients, we have: 

• approved the supply of alternative overseas-registered products under section 19A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989, and 

• issued a Serious Shortage Substitution Notice (SSSN) for sertraline tablets
