Free webinar: Supporting doctors and medical students with disability
The AMA is holding a free webinar next week on how the profession can better support doctors and medical students with disability.
The AMA will shine a spotlight on the barriers preventing doctors and medical students from thriving in the medical profession in a webinar to be held Tuesday, 26 September at 7.30pm.
The Supporting doctors and medical students with disability webinar will help create greater understanding and awareness about the need for inclusivity in the medical profession.
Earlier this month, the AMA published a position statement highlighting the importance of the development of pathways that support a career in medicine for people with disability.
Webinar attendees will hear from AMA President Professor Steve Robson, AMA Equity Inclusion Diversity Committee Chair Dr Sarah Whitelaw and Doctors with Disabilities Australia co-founder Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM.
Clinical Associate Professor Lisa Meeks from the University of Michigan Medical School will also address the webinar, as well as Dr Matthew French, who is the Regional Director of Training (QLD) at the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
The webinar is free and open to all doctors, trainees and medical professionals.
